Davis-Standard boosts feed-screw capacity

Dec. 3, 2018
Davis-Standard LLC, a Pawcatuck, Conn., a maker of polymer processing equipment, has invested $2 million to add a fourth CNC machining center to its facility to increase its feed-screw manufacturing capacity.
"The CNC machining center being installed is the same brand as our existing machines, Weingartner, which makes software programs and tooling interchangeable," said Mike Newhall, VP of operations. "This will further add to our ability to meet customer demand and improve our overall responsiveness to our customer requirements."
The addition is expected to boost feed-screw output by more than 25 percent and shorten delivery times. Davis-Standard manufactures more than 1,000 feed screws annually.
