MASIM stretcher gently handles delicate films

The unit from Marchante SaS uses very small clips to simultaneously stretch films both vertically and horizontally, to one-tenth its original thickness.
MASIM This film-stretching unit uses very small clips to simultaneouslystretch films both vertically and horizontally to achieve very straight, thin-width edges, down to thicknesses of 1 micron. The machine is included as part of a complete production line, from extrusion to winding. It is appropriate for the handling of films made from a large variety of materials, including biaxially oriented PP, biaxially oriented PE, biaxially oriented PET, PET-glycol and PVC.

What’s new? The position of the clips. Marchante has moved the clips so close together that they can now stretch the film to one-tenth its original thickness in both the machine and transverse directions.

Benefits Homogenous film stretching, which allows users to avoid the creation of edge waste. The MASIM is designed for gently handling delicate films, including battery-separator film. According to the company, it can stretch film 10 times further without breaking or damaging it. With only one simultaneous-stretching machine, users can achieve the same amount of stretching, at a lower cost, that would otherwise require two sequential stretchers. And the film quality is better.
