SFM Scanner 200 and SFM Scanner 400 This series of off-line flatbed scanning systems from EngView Systems Corp., Montreal, measures profiles made from PVC and other materials. Systems that can measure a part with a maximum height of 5 inches are available; the biggest available field of view is 12 inches by 16 inches. The systems are appropriate for both the shop floor and laboratory environments. Holco is EngView’s U.S. distributor.

What’s new? Recent updates giving the SFM Scanner 200 and SFM Scanner 400 the ability to connect to a data server for storage and analysis of measurement results. Also, EngView has narrowed the SFM Scanner 200’s field of view, making it 0.39 inch by 7.87 inches.

Benefits Accurate measurements of profiles and access to reports at the press of a button. Users can opt to have the system automatically compare the profile measurements against CAD drawings, or, using a new extraction function, perfectly made parts. The system ensures products conform to specifications. In addition, with its new, narrower field of view, the SFM Scanner 200 achieves sub-10-micron accuracy, making it appropriate for the examination of smaller parts, such as medical tubing.
