iPlasma surface treater is efficient, customizable

Dec. 1, 2019
Vetaphone upgrades inline system's hardware and software for reduced costs and environmental impact.
iPlasma This new plasma treater from Vetaphone works within an oxygen-free environment to prepare film or sheet inline as it’s extruded. It uses nitrogen to treat products such as film and electronics. Featuring a 10-inch LCD touch-screen panel and a unit for spot-checking the gas mixture, the system works with a variety of materials, including PET, PP, biaxially-oriented PP, PE, PVC, polyamide and fluorinated polymers such as polyvinyl fluoride. Treater widths and speeds are customizable.

What’s new? The system. An upgrade over a previous model called EASI-Plasma, it features updates to both software and hardware, including a fully integrated Siemens PLC that handles gas-mixture recipes and plasma discharge.

Benefits Reduced costs, lower energy consumption and reduced impact on the environment. According to Vetaphone, the treater is more efficient than competing units. It creates good surface quality that allows adhesion to substances such as inks. As an added benefit, Vetaphone helps users find treatment gases at the most favorable prices.
