Krüss updates software for analyzing surfaces

Jan. 2, 2020
Advance software for tensiometers, drop shape analyzers and foam analyzers offers tiered access and a comprehensive adhesion analysis module.
Testing instruments Krüss manufactures a number of devices that can be used by plastics processors. They include: tensiometers, which measure surface tension and interfacial tension; drop shape analyzers, which evaluate wettability and adhesion; and foam analyzers, which measure the foamability of liquids.

What’s new? The release of Version 1.11 of Krüss’ Advance software, which runs the company’s K100 tensiometer, along with its spinning drop tensiometer and all its drop shape analyzers and foam analyzers. Together, the instruments and software provide surface characterizations of a variety of materials, including polymers. The new version offers a tiered structure of access and a comprehensive adhesion analysis module.

Benefits Improved data security and optimized wettability and adhesion. With the new adhesion module, users now can calculate expected adhesion or interfacial tension for a given solid-liquid combination. A diagram shows how solids or liquids can be changed to improve wettability.
