Software streamlines hand-held scanning process

Feb. 1, 2020
Streamline Assist 3D Infotech’s Streamline Automation software was created to automate robotic 3-D scanning processes, and now the company offers its Streamline Assist software to bring some of the same benefits to processes using hand-held scanners. The company says it offers advantages over traditional measurement methods for quality assurance tasks, especially for parts with organic shapes, because the software’s visual color maps can quickly identify areas of concern. The software works with Creaform’s HandySCAN and MetraSCAN family of 3-D scanners.

What’s new? Streamline Assist, which debuted in September.

Benefits High-quality, fast measurements and reduced user errors. Once a part’s profile has been selected by entering a part number or bar code scan, the software walks operators through a step-by-step process, offering guidance to efficiently capture scan data. Once the scan is completed, Streamline Assist automates all the steps that follow, including report creation. The company typically offers Streamline Assist for sale as part of a bundle that includes a Creaform scanner, software, training and support, but will sell it directly to customers who have the other necessary components.
