FlexFlow offers users more control

Specific mold cards for each tool provide control over Oerlikon HRSflow hot-runner systems with different nozzle types and sizes.

FlexFlow The servo-driven-valve-gate technology of these Oerlikon HRSflow hot runners allows the independent adjustment of each valve pin with precise control of stroke and force during opening and closing phases. They are designed to perform optimized processing of materials with narrow process windows, making them appropriate for bio-based resins, as well as recycled resins. They can be used to help injection molders conserve resin, produce thinner-walled parts, achieve Class A surfaces and manufacture parts using family molds.  

What’s new? Updated controls, as part of HMI 4.0. The new controls use specific mold cards for each FlexFlow tool to provide control over systems with different nozzle types and sizes. All information required by HMI 4.0, including recipes and the number and configuration of servo-electric nozzles, can be uploaded to the cards. Uploadable data also includes multiple parameter sets, diagrams for individual molding recipes, and images of molded parts and individual gating points. The new controls can be retrofitted to existing hot runners. 

Benefits System integration and more control. Users can manage the operation parameters of each motor to independently optimize the performance of related nozzles, and HMI 4.0 makes managing family molds easier. Overall, the hot runners make possible precisely controlled, gentle and low-warpage overmolding. Also, compared with hydraulic systems, the systems use less energy.
