Xp nozzle system designed for stack molds

Dec. 9, 2022
Oerlikon HRSflow's system for thin-walled packaging promises reduced energy consumption, fast injection and cycle times, and plug-and-play installation.

Xp This Oerlikon HRSflow valve-gate nozzle series is appropriate for use with hot-runner systems for manufacturing thin-walled packaging on smaller-sized injection molding machines. The nozzles fit a maximum plate thickness of about 9.4 inches, allowing the company to supply perfectly symmetrical molds with up to eight-plus-eight drops, with a minimum pitch between cavities of about 2.6 inches, and between the nozzle and inlet of 4.7 inches. The nozzles can handle high filling pressures of up to 31,908 pounds per square inch.

What’s new? The series, designed for stack-mold systems. It will be commercially available starting in January 2023.

Benefits Reduced energy consumption, fast injection and cycle times, and plug-and-play installation. The Xp series allows molders to make parts with smaller injection molding machines, while experiencing stable processes, the company says. Using Xp nozzles, molders can produce very consistent packaging.
