ShopFloor software from CAMWorks/HCL Technologies pares down information from mold designers' CAD/CAM files into a format that's usable for mold makers.

ShopFloor This software from CAMWorks/HCL Technologies presents a way to pare down the information from mold designers’ CAD/CAM drawings and files into a format that’s usable for mold makers. From a single digital file, machinists and other personnel can access the model of the mold, and view, measure and section the mold; they also can see toolpath simulations and CAM data, including necessary tools and the sequence of operations. The software has been designed to work with three-, four- and five-axis machining centers, lathes, turning centers and milling-turning centers supplied by any manufacturer.

What’s new? The software, which came out in the summer.

Benefits Cost-effective access to the digital tools mold makers need. ShopFloor gives mold makers an affordable, effective means of leveraging CAD/CAM and other data throughout the manufacturing process — at a price that’s less expensive than a license to a full CAD/CAM program. With the software, mold makers can reduce set-up time and avoid toolpath collisions and downtime.
