Laser Object Detection Tomra's new Laser Object Detection (LOD) system monitors the spectral and spatial characteristics of feed material, and can identify black plastic, rubber, glass and other items. It can integrate into a circuit with Tomra's Autosort and Finder systems, or work as a stand-alone sorting system in recycling operations.

What's new? The laser system.

Benefits Up to a 4 percent increase in product purity without decreasing productivity. LOD identifies materials that near-infrared technology cannot detect while drawing less energy than alternative methods, and reduces operational costs by decreasing the number of manual pickers needed. LOD can boost final purity levels enough to meet increasingly strict standards, including the China National Sword standard.
