Thermorunner KTR 5.1 Speed Designed for manufacturing products such as yogurt cups, coffee pods and drinking cups, this thermoforming machine from Kiefel GmbH, Freilassing, Germany, employs servomotor-driven pre-stretching devices and uses high-temperature ceramic radiators to heat film and an infrared pyrometer to track film temperature. The all-in-one machine features a cast-steel forming and punching station and also performs stacking. In the U.S., Kiefel is represented by its parent company, Brueckner.

What’s new? The machine, which features numerous upgrades over its predecessor, the Thermorunner KTR 5 Speed. They include a new, fully automatic tool-temperature regulation system and an improved forming-air system. Also, the company has enhanced the system’s software governing process monitoring and forming, as well as the transition from forming to stacking. The film transport system also has been upgraded.
