The GN580 thermoformer is highly automated and tool changes are easy, making manufacture of packaging more cost-effective.
GN580 With the ability to form, cut and stack, this thermoformer from GN Thermoforming is well-suited for the food, medical and industrial packaging markets. It has an integrated steel-rule cutting press and stacking station, as well as an energy-recovery system and HMI with integrated diagnostic tools. It can accept tools from many competitors’ machines and handles all thermoformable grades of PET, polylactic, PP, PVC, oriented PS and high-impact PS.

What’s new? The thermoforming machine, a smaller sibling of the GN800, which debuted about three years ago. At the K show, a GN580 that had already been sold to a Central European manufacturer produced meat trays using 100 percent post-consumer PET.

Benefits Cost-effective manufacture of packaging. The GN580 is highly automated, and tool changes are easy, according to the company. While based on the GN800, the new thermoformer is smaller, making it an ideal choice for tight spaces.
